‘Growth through Acquisition’ is a well practised strategy – however many organisations primarily focus on the commercial aspects of the deal and fail to incorporate a true assessment of people, culture and capability.

OE Cam’s next CEO/HRD dinner debate will explore how organisations can adopt a more holistic approach to acquisitions and we are delighted to have Glenn Leech, Managing Director of Connect Education and Care and formerly Group HRD of Connect Group to lead the debate.

Glenn successfully led Connect Group’s organisation, people and culture due diligence and the subsequent people integration of multiple acquisitions.  These acquisitions transformed the Group from its origins as a £1.2bn newspaper and magazine distribution business (demerged from WHSmith in 2006) to the diverse distribution group it is today with combined revenues of £1.8bn and c6,000 employees.

Connect Group has an outstanding record in successful acquisitions with a pipeline of carefully targeted opportunities rigorously evaluated against a tried and tested set of criteria.  Glenn has a unique perspective on the acquisition process.  He brings a wealth of experience of reviewing capability and culture as part of organisational due diligence along with leadership insight of ‘living with the decision’.  Glenn will lead the discussion by sharing his end-to-end experience of the acquisition journey.

OE Cam events are invitation only but if you are interested in attending our dinner at the Ham Yard Hotel on Wednesday 11 November, please email Helen at helen.pybus@oecam.com
