OE Cam is delighted to be hosting a breakfast on Thursday 27th February 2020 to explore the leadership DNA behind Associated British Foods (ABF plc); an in-depth look at the character strengths of leaders who thrive in this highly successful FTSE 100 organisation.

ABF plc is a diversified international business with sales of £15.8bn and 138,000 employees operating across 52 countries.  The ABF portfolio includes grocery brands such as Twinings, Jordans and Pataks, the world’s second largest sugar producer, specialist ingredient businesses, an animal nutrition business and of course, Primark.  To tell the story of the people behind the business, we are delighted to have Des Pullen, former Group HR Director of ABF as our guest speaker.  Des worked with ABF for nearly 20 years as both a GM and Group HRD, and has been instrumental in defining and assessing the ‘character strengths’ that both underpin the ABF leadership culture and deliver business success. In our experience, character strengths differ from traditional competencies in that they describe attributes, attitudes, aptitudes and personality variables. So to identify those leaders who are able to navigate todays’ complex, ambiguous landscape, you need to go beyond competency frameworks.

The venue for our breakfast is Caravan in Fitzrovia, London.  Yalding House on Great Portland Street was the home of BBC Radio 1’s iconic Live Lounge; where artists performed brave acoustic versions of their own work, as well as covers from outside their genre to offer an exciting new perspective on the original.

We are looking forward to Des and the venue inspiring us to reflect together on new perspectives in maximising leadership effectiveness for outstanding and sustainable business growth.

OE Cam events are invitation-only but if you are interested in attending, please email Helen Pybus using the contact form below.  Please note that this event is aimed at senior HR, Talent and Functional Directors employed by organisations.
