OE Cam and the Cambridge Barclays Eagle Labs* are delighted to co-host a practical event on Resilient Leadership on Thursday 9th May 2019. This free seminar will be facilitated by Dr. Hazel McLaughlin, Business Psychologist and Partner at OE Cam.

Our theme is ‘Resilient Leadership’; we explore how leaders can build their personal resilience but also go beyond this to ensure business growth. We will address how to enhance ways of working, build organisational resilience and harness the strength of Disruptive Talent.

Resilience enables leaders to compete within a VUCA environment to harness their individual resilience and develop a mindset for business growth

Resilience enables leaders to compete within a VUCA environment to harness their individual resilience and develop a mindset for business growth. Dr Hazel explains “The mindset of team members is vital to business success. It is important to build on your personal resilience and capability, and to recruit people who are open to change, flexible in their approach and respond with agility to their environment. If their attitude is right they will be motivated and energised to push forward and make change happen“. Hazel will share insights into assessing and developing resilience both at individual and organisational level.

But thriving organisations and individuals don’t just adapt, they create their own future. Innovative businesses embrace diversity of ideas and harness the right talent to reimagine their world and foster the right ecology for growth. Dr. Hazel continues “In the context of SMEs, the entrepreneur is often what we call Disruptive Talent – those individuals who think and act differently, who innovate, who challenge conventional wisdom and practice. But as your business grows, Disruptive Talent needs the right support to flourish; they will challenge conventional thinking but also can take the business in new directions. The role of the entrepreneur is critical but also harnessing the talent within the team and building resilience has a fundamental role to play.”
