Building Capability in a Remote Environment

Bespoke Virtual Workshops…

1. Perfecting the Art of Remote Leadership

(approx. 90 minute virtual session)

Working with your senior leaders, we will facilitate an interactive virtual session that explores the key factors found to be critical in mastering the art of Remote Leadership.  For example, how do you balance enabling autonomy with the psychological need for control often felt with uncertainty?  These factors will be considered in the specific context of your business, while enabling you to learn from the successful practice of others through our insights.  The specific content of the session will be bespoke to your needs, however, example topics that can be explored include:

  • Understanding the psychological needs of those working remotely – both leaders and teams
  • Practical steps to managing differing levels of both physical and psychological distance
  • Quickly building new behavioural norms
  • Building effective virtual body language.

2. Team Effectiveness in the Remote Environment

(approx. 120 minute virtual session)

When working remotely, increased levels of self-awareness and building an understanding of our team members becomes crucial – enabling smooth communication and quick decision-making.

Our virtual session on Team Effectiveness, utilising the Team Management Profile (TMP ™), will quickly and easily build both awareness of individual preferences, as well as providing a comprehensive team profile.  These insights will ensure blindspots are compensated for while working as a team under pressure. This tailored session requires the completion of the Team Management Profile online ahead of time and includes individual feedback with a member of the OE Cam team.

3. Efficient “LINKING” Skills in the Remote Environment – Team Management Profile (TMP ™) Refresher

(approx. 60 minute virtual session)

Making the most of previously explored tools is a quick and easy way to ensure you remain effective in the remote environment.

For those teams who have previously complete the Team Management Profile (TMP ™) with OE Cam, we recommend taking a short amount of time to refresh the importance of your teams ‘linking’ behaviours (how to communicate effectively with one another). During this virtual workshop we will revisit the communication & working preferences of your teams and discuss the impact on working with greater levels of remote interactions under times of challenge.

4. The Importance of Emotional Intelligence (EQ) in a Remote Environment

(approx. 90 minute virtual session)

As psychologists, we recognise that during times of high anxiety and rapid change, emotion is likely to be a strong driver of behaviour within many businesses. Managed effectively and with skill from leaders and team members, this can be a valuable asset.

Our interactive session on Emotional Intelligence (EQ) explores the constructs of managing both your own emotions as well as those of others. The content of the session will be tailored to your specific needs, however, is likely to explore:

  • An understanding of emotional triggers and needs in times of change and uncertainty
  • Tips for engaging with greater emotional intelligence across remote working practices
  • Honing emotional management capabilities to retain empathy while still ensuring emotional resilience in times of strain.

5. Retaining Wellbeing in a Remote Environment

(approx. 90 minute virtual session)

Your teams are likely to be under severe pressure right now…  Ensuring their psychological, social and physical wellbeing is critical.

To support leaders, we can deliver interactive sessions for your team to explore tendencies for negative ‘thinking traps’, which are heightened during times of uncertainty, and provide practical steps for overcoming them. We can work with individuals to identify the impact of remote working, to build awareness and enable management of “self-talk” going forwards. In addition, we will share with you OE Cam’s model of resilience, providing opportunity to explore existing strengths associated with resilience, as well as develop more informed ways to build greater personal resilience.

6. Understanding the OD Response to Covid-19

(approx. 150 minute virtual session)

To effectively respond to the impact of Covid-19, an organisation needs to not only quickly provide the facilities that will support their employees to work remotely, it also needs to pay attention to maintaining the social cohesion of your organisation, whilst ensuring you have effective ways of working in place for decision-making and communication.

In this virtual workshop we will work with your senior leadership team to develop an OD action plan to maintain organisational cohesion; ensuring the business can cope with the immediate pressures and is prepared for whatever lies ahead.

Prior to the session, you will complete a short, online diagnostic. Our strategic partners, Qlearsite are offering a mini diagnostic (details here) or we can create something bespoke.

7.  Practical techniques for better decision-making during Covid-19

(approx. 150 minute virtual session)

“Some of my people aren’t thinking straight, their problem-solving skills seem impaired”

From our experience we know there are two key elements involved in any decision:
· The individual(s) involved
· The organisation’s formal process

Our workshop(s) will address and mitigate issues in both of these areas.

For the individual
We will provide psychological insights into how different leaders are coping with decision making during this fast-moving and uncertain crisis. Using interactive exercises, we will also help individuals and teams understand how they make decisions and equip them with tools and techniques to adapt their approach.

For the organisation
We will provide practical steps to clarify and improve how decisions are made in your organisation. The workshop(s) will also look at how to effectively communicate with your employees to allow them to make better decisions.

Organisational Diagnostic

Diagnostic tools can help organisations focus on the key activities they need to take in response to a rapidly changing environment.

Qlearsite, a strategic partner of OE Cam, has developed a short online questionnaire to assess an organisation’s readiness to respond to the impact of Covid-19.
